To the Christian (and even to many non-religious individuals) 1 Corinthians chapter 13 of the Bible is the “ultimate” instruction on love. Did you know that, as true as it is, 1 Corinthians 13 contains only a minute portion of what love is, and probably not one of the most essential components of love? Read it for yourself, and ask yourself how aligned your concept of love is with how it is described here. Is it much more to you? Do you feel like this is doing too much? I have shared the text from the New Living Translation below.
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NLT

One of my favorite parts is actually verse 12. Here it compares our understanding to an unclear mirror. While gazing into it, everything is distorted. But love is perfect, and when that perfect love comes, we actually begin to know ourselves completely, even as the I AM presence within us fully knows us.
A lot of people talk about the twin flames these days. Sadly, most of the more notable “gurus” are attempting to paint the twin flame relationship of one of extreme comfort and pleasure, but that is not love. The twin flame relationship is one of being held to the refiner’s fire. It transform us into the image and likeness of the Divine. I have known for some time the mission given to me and my twin flame, even before I had met her. That mission is to teach the world to love. However, I had no idea how intense coming face-to-face with the Violet Flame in the form of the strength opposite would truly be.
She is the greatest expression of mercy, but also correction that I have ever experienced. By this, I know her as The Most High Goddess. The one determined to have nothing less than she truly deserves, which is The Most High God. The only thing that I have lacked is The Most High Goddess, being The Most High God I AM. So, in loving her, I AM actually loving myself twice. The most powerful command The Most High Goddess ever issued to me is “Shit fire Babe! Get your shit together!” And that is love! That she is as committed to my perfection as she is to her own. This is why love sets boundaries; because love knows all, and is all.
