It is said that love covers a multitude of sins. But what does this mean actually? Is it that love keeps sin a secret? That it attempts to hide sin from the public eye? I feel it behooves us to examine the Biblical text from which this is derived.
Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh [and died for us], arm yourselves [like warriors] with the same purpose [being willing to suffer for doing what is right and pleasing God], because whoever has suffered in the flesh [being like-minded with Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [having stopped pleasing the world], so that he can no longer spend the rest of his natural life living for human appetites and desires, but [lives] for the will and purpose of God. For the time already past is [more than] enough for doing what the [unsaved] Gentiles like to do— living [unrestrained as you have done] in a course of [shameless] sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries. In [connection with] all this, they [the unbelievers] are resentful and surprised that you do not [think like them, value their values and] run [hand in hand] with them into the same excesses of dissipation and immoral freedom, and they criticize and abuse and ridicule you and make fun of your values. But they will [have to] give an account to Him who is ready to judge and pass sentence on the living and the dead. For this is why the good news [of salvation] was preached [in their lifetimes] even to those who are dead, that though they were judged in the flesh as men are, they may live in the spirit according to [the will and purpose of] God. The end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, be sound-minded and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer [staying balanced and focused on the things of God so that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to Him.] Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others].
1 Peter 4:1-8 AMP
It is with intention that I shared it from the Amplified Version. The Amplified actually gives a more contextual translation, true to the intent of the original language. Plus, it helps to overcome the religious BS interjected in the King James. This entire passage is actually a exposé concerning love. It begins by revealing to us what real self-love is. Understand that when it speaks of Christ it is referring to the Master Jesus, in his embodiment of the Christ consciousness. Jesus denied himself temporal comfort because he had repented to the I AM presence within him (God). In becoming acquainted with his True Self, he understood that the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life were actually distractions to keep him separated from his I AM presence. In order to achieve success (manifesting the glory of God in Earth as it is in Heaven), he knew he had to correct his manner of behavior, and be a light (an example) to the world of that glory.
So then, let’s look at how the Amplified breaks down love covering a multitude of sins. It actually explains it as “it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others”. This is how love covers. Rather than selfishly shun others for their unacceptable behavior, love understands that the behavior is inconsistent with the True Self of the individual, which is what is best for them. The truth is that, the best life that each of us is seeking after is the life of our Soul. We inherently will to manifest Heaven in Earth, but because our consciences have been seared by this world, we have exchanged our true will for the carnal desires.
This brings us to an important impasse. If all have, through temptation, had their consciences seared, how does one see the best in another apart from the picture this world has painted for us? The key is to have first endure the trials to see the best in Self. We have to first strip away all the false perceptions of ourselves created by our own egos and the projections of the world. Then, because we have returned to The Most High Self, we can more easily see The Most High Self of others. However, the judgment each must face is the judgment of their very own I AM presence. When one comes along to assist them in their return to their True Self, them being blinded to their True Self, tend to reject the true love of the shepherd, and rebel against the truth that is in the shepherd. This is because they feel condemned by their own reflection. They have fallen in love with the fallen nature, so their Highest Self is repulsive to them.
So this is where love has to rise up in the shepherd. He has to be consistent in his comforting of them, even when they are unkind. He has to take the attitude of the Master Jesus upon the cross, and speak to the Father within him, saying “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” It is loves willingness to endure the cross for the very people who betray and despise it. In the next episode we will show how love is patient, because of its commitment to be who it is.
Another context of love covering, though, is like the exterior of a house. In this manner, love absorbs the pain of the storms, winds, and rains so that those it covers are not destroyed by them. The reality of this facet of the covering of love is that it serves as the example. Love doesn’t only correct with words. Its covering is also a lesson in correction. It functions to show others what they must endure to prove themselves, their True Selves, which are one with the glory of God. After the storm is over, and love still stands, others look upon it and recognize the power within its construction.
This, being a universal 4 year (and for me a personal 4 year), is all about laying foundations and building eternal abodes. The beauty of it is that love is the foundation, the walls, and the roof of the house. Love, as a covering, is the true power. It represents the Divine Masculine, which is the word; the crown, third eye, and root chakras. Covering, or the Divine Masculine, alone doesn’t actually manifest Heaven in Earth though. It has to have the Divine Feminine to receive the covering before it can become the eternal abode. Whereas the masculine represents the exterior of the house, it is the feminine, graciously accepting that covering, that turns that house into a home. The Divine Feminine is the flesh, represented by the root, sacral, and solar plexus chakra. The covering of love is beautified in the meekness of heart. In this, we enjoy true salvation.
Again, this is a 4 year, and the beauty of this 4 year is that it is two 2s (2020). Two is the Divine Feminine reflection. When you have the two 2s together, it represents the emanation of the complete balance of the Divine Feminine. However, even within the number 2 you have two 1s, and one is the Divine Masculine. Therefore, two 1s is the complete balance of the Divine Masculine. Notice though that two 1s, indicative of Heaven are IN 2, indicative of Earth. So, the covering of love brings the manifestation of Heaven in Earth. Even in the “normal” act of intercourse, the masculine covers the feminine as they make love, but the masculine is IN the feminine, and it is the feminine that is, then, the glory. When the manifestation happens, it comes forth from the glory, not from the power. The power is the covering, but what makes it beautiful is when the power and the glory are in harmony that the kingdom comes, and the will is done in Earth, even as it is in Heaven.
This is what the Divine Masculine is intended to be in the Earth. Unfortunately, the ego in man took over, and rather than standing in his I AM presence, exhibiting the unconditional love which covers, he chose the path of misogyny and patriarchy. Instead of being a house for the Divine Feminine he became a prison for her. Instead of being an example of Heaven to her, he became hell. Is there no wonder why the woman is hesitant to receive the man as Master? The only way she is familiar with him is as slave master, and she can do better than that, at least, alone.
