When you hear the word “patience” what comes to mind? I think it’s acceptable to say that the average individual thinks of waiting. Waiting is THE MOST difficult thing for the ego. However, the way I view waiting as an aspect of patience is much different from what most people perceive when waiting is discussed. I look at waiting as the behavior of a server. Waiting is what waiters and waitresses do, not what is done by those sitting at a bus stop expecting their bus to arrive.
So, as we discuss the patience of love, I want you to understand it in the context of love as an act of service. No, love doesn’t rush a person in anxiety. So, there is an aspect of love’s patience that holds a space for the object of love to arrive. It is common, when you see so much more for an individual than they see for themselves. This can sometimes be knowledge based vision, but more often in humans, it is desire based vision. Most humans project their own lusts onto others, and when the person doesn’t submit to those lusts, this is when ultimatums are issued, either verbally, or by leaving the individual they claimed to love.
When a person is using another person to satisfy their lusts, they become impatient when their lusts are no longer being fulfilled. So while they claimed to have loved them. The fact that they are trying to change who they have chosen to be back into the person who was a slave to their lusts is the proof that there was never any love there. Love doesn’t abandon people because they aren’t evolving fast enough. Love continues serving because love is master. A true master makes himself a servant to demonstrate the love he is, and he doesn’t serve just to get a reward. The Master serves because it is the nature of the I AM presence. The Master understands that the only way to make masters of disciples is to be consistent in behavior, without fail.
Love is patient because it understands that the most righteous thing one can do is be himself consistently. That is integrity. Integrity is to be unmoved by the actions of others. Love cannot be bought, nor easily offended. So for love to be itself is the epitome of doing good. So, love remains patient in obedience to the Universal Law of Reciprocity. The Law of Reciprocity says “Be not deceived; God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. And be not weary in well doing, for in due season you will reap, if you faint not.” This is even the behavior of real self-love. When one knows the good to do towards manifesting his best self, he patiently does those things, in service to his Soul, knowing that in due season, he will reap Heaven in Earth, if he doesn’t give up the work of manifesting his own Divine Essence.
