Humanity, with all its lusts and pride, is but a prison Divinity must be saved from. In this life as sentient beings, slavery is indeed a choice. Truthfully, all are slaves. It is up to each of us to determine what we will be slave to. Because of the history of Africans enslaved in the west, I understand that word is despised, but allow me to place it in its proper context for you.
The Bible makes mention of slaves being obedient to masters. Because few people actually have the mind of Christ, they read the Bible as a carnal book. Many today only view its words as tools for oppression, but it is NOT the book that is oppressive. It is the human miscomprehension and abuse of the book that is oppressive.
This brings me, first, back to the guidelines I set down for building a relationship with the Bible. My greatest admonishment is DON’T READ IT! No, I don’t mean run from it, but more importantly, allow someone who has become the word to reveal it to you. Come under the tutelage of a Master. Masters are mystics who have met God face-to-face, and read the Bible as the mind of God.
That’s essentially the reason you are told that no scripture is given to private interpretation. It is humans who have interpreted the Bible as it pleases their own lusts and fears that interpret the Scriptures to carry out their own unrighteous agendas. These very ones have given you the religions of the world. These are they who have separated man from God.
What are my three rules for IF you are going to read the Bible?
- Learn the attested languages of the Bible. Without the presence of a Master, it is important that you can, at least, read the Scriptures as they are originally written. You’ll find that the English has, either erroneously or maliciously, butchered the original message conveyed in both the TaNaKh (that is the Torah, Navi’im, and Ketuvi’im- or Instruction, Prophets, and Writings), as many call it, the “Old Testament”, and what is known as the “New Testament”.
- Study the cultural perspective and agenda of each writer. Remember, the Bible is not a modern book. It is also not a Western resource. The several writers of the books of the Bible had a completely different worldview from, really, anything that it experienced today. Technology has altered the course of knowledge, as well as the increasing wickedness of the human heart. So, you would do well to have some comprehension of the cultural backdrop of the day.
- Lastly, read it as if you have never read it before. Treat it like any other book you read for the very first time. DO NOT go into with a mindset that you already know what it is about. Enter without any bias or prejudice.
Now, with that clarification, understand that the Bible is actually a mystical writ. It is utterly spiritual, and needs to be strictly taken as such. Once you grasp that, it really even becomes irrelevant whether or not any of the characters written of were actual people. Now, take away the literal, human, dogma of slavery, and view the Biblical instructions concerning such as purely spiritual.
At creation, man was fully God. We are designed in a beginning to be Lord and Master of The Universe. God was free to maintain harmony, balance, righteousness, justice in The Universe. There was no prison nor plantation that could contain the God in man. Then man chose to bind God and become human. Once man chose to be an animal rather than to cling to his equality with God, all of creation became subject to vanity. Why is that? Because the only one capable of maintaining order in The Universe was God, and God was wholly in man from creation.
Today, all the very things man was supposed to subdue and have dominion over have become humans masters. Whereas, we began keeping lawlessness bound, humans are now slaves to their own lawlessness. The only hope is to set the captive free, but who is the real captive? The only true captive in this world is God. Humanity has locked God away in the dungeon of the desperately wicked heart, and only seeks to make God labor towards the satisfaction of its love of the world.
The Law of Attraction, for example, basically teaches you that God exists to be your Santa Claus, so that you may enjoy the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life. It teaches you to make God your slave in order to accomplish all your selfish desires. Rather than you releasing the God within you (“Our Father, who art in Heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, and thy will be done, in Earth as it is in Heaven”), you choose to be a slave to your senses, a bondservant of pleasure, and for this reason, The Universe is in disarray to this very day.
Healing and salvation are inextricable of one another. Healing is correction. Healing is restoration. That is exactly what salvation is. It is not some other man dying so you can go about living a life in bondage to your humanity- eating as you desire, having sex as you desire, drinking as you desire. Salvation is you making your carnality the slave to your Divinity. So, yes, in this regard, slaves obey your Masters. Your bodies, with its cravings and appetites, are the slaves. Your inherent divinity- the I AM presence within you- is the Master.
Once we have met God, how could we not desire to return to such love? The love we are from the beginning? Having seen God face-to-face within me, I love God too much to keep “him” enslaved. Humanity has kept God captive far too long, and look at the state the world is in today as a result.
