Once you realize that רוח הקודש/Άγιο Πνεύμα (Ruach H’qodesh/Hagios Pneuma), what you know as Holy Spirit, is more literally breath or influence unlike any other breath or influence, you will stop thinking that what the “Holy Spirit” gave another was meant to bind you.
Understanding that Moshe spent forty days and forty nights ALONE on a mountain, it was HIS OWN Set-apart influence that he was in communion with. This is the crux of the mythos. As King, he then subjected the rest of the people to what HIS Set-apart influence told him.
This is the great “evil” of this world. People like to force their personal convictions upon others. That is all the Holy Spirit is: your personal conviction. This is why Holy Spirit is neuter in the Hebrew and Greek mythos. It is not a being, but a breath or wind.
When you vow to (vote for) a politician, you are yielding yourself as an adherent to whatever he or she feels is right. This is the exact same concept behind religion. You choose to be subject to what someone else said God told them, instead of doing what your own Set-apart Influence has instructed you to do.
This is the true new covenant. Your instructions are written upon your innermost being. You have no need for anyone to teach you. You know the way that is right FOR YOU, and if you go against the way that is right FOR YOU, only you have to die for rejecting your inherent knowledge.
No one can die for you transgressing against what your intuition instructs you to do but you. Your repentance is to turn back to the influence within you, away from the influence of others. This is what it is to be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Renewing is to make new again, and when your mind is new, it believes nothing. It only knows, and you do what feels right to you.
In this, you are able to prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. The perfect will of God is that you LOVE your neighbor AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. When you LOVE yourself, there is no fear of condemnation. This is because perfect Self-LOVE is allowing yourself to be as you are.
Once you end the war within you, wars outside of you will cease. It is only because people are not confident of their own sovereign significance that they demand others agree with what they believe for themselves. Once LOVE is perfected within you, the need for others to agree with you dissipates. You are no longer afraid of standing alone, for that is exactly what holiness is: non-conformity.
